Upload documents so they land in the right lane
The declaration — source, relation, subject — and what each answer changes.
Every upload asks three things, and each one changes how the document is read.
What kind of source is this? An article, a conversation, a piece of speech. A transcript is read as people talking, which is not the same as prose.
What is your relation to it? Whether you wrote it, said it, or collected it. This is the one that decides whether sentences in it can ever be quoted as the owner's own words.
Is it about the persona? A biography of the owner and a paper by the owner are both theirs, and they are not interchangeable.
There is no default, deliberately
A file uploaded without answers claims nothing: it stays reference material and nothing in it will be spoken as the owner's own. That is a safe outcome, not a broken one — but it is also a weaker brain, so answer the three when you can.
What not to upload
Anything you would not be comfortable being quoted from. Visibility is a setting per document, but the cheapest control is what you put in.
